I live in a custom-design Kuhns Bros log home in Madison County New York, halfway between Cazenovia and Hamilton. This area is very rural with rolling hills, many small lakes and reservoirs, beautiful scenery and lots of peace and quiet. A beautiful spot for a log home of ones dreams.

I built my home in 1996 and have loved all the special aspects and qualities of living in a log home since then. I was so pleased with Kuhns Bros. products and services that I considered becoming a sales representative at that time. However, my career called and I promised myself I would re-visit the idea when I semi-retired.

As you can guess I kept my promise.

Having decided in the early 90’s that I wanted to build my own custom home, I began the long process of researching options. It took me some time to narrow it down to either a log home or a timber frame. I read the magazines, visited manufactures and read as much as I could about these style homes. In a fairly short time I determined that Kuhns Bros. offered the best product mostly because of the kiln-dried logs and the flexibility of their product offerings. I was never disappointed in my decision. The service they offered throughout was outstanding and the fact that I have had no significant problems with my home attest to the quality of their product.

Having some construction background, I acted as my own general contractor. I hired an experienced builder, foundation manufacturer (Superior Walls) and excavator but other than that did much of the work myself. I was able to be present every day throughout the construction process and learned a lot about the methods and process.

I can bring that experience, plus the additional experience I’ve gained by delivering several new log homes as a Kuhns Bros Representative, to the table to assist you in building your dream home. I can help with site selection, financing, design, finding the right builder and all other aspects of the process.
